Doing Business God's Way: Christians In Business

Christians in business have a responsibility to show the world that Christians can be a success without having to deceive, cheat, lie or steal. This means that Christians must determine that they will not only do business God's way according to scripture, but they will also commit to growing their business and allowing God to prosper it financially.

If you're a Christian and you believe it's wrong to have money, then don't even begin to start a business until you understand God's principles for financial prosperity. Just because there have been greedy Christians who have misused and abused God's name in order to get ahead in business and to achieve financial wealth, doesn't mean that God is against His children living successful and financially prosperous lives.

If we follow God's path for success we will always prosper, but don't take my word for it, let's see what the Bible has to say. By living God’s will (His Word) for your life and business you will have success in all the issues of life.

Psalm 1:1-6 (KJV)

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. ²But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. ³And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. ⁴The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. ⁵Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. ⁶For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalms 1:1-6 make it clear that as we put to practice God's Word we will have success in whatever we do, so Christians in business should expect to have success. This is why we are to study the Word. First we learn it, we speak it and then we act upon it. As we keep it in our lives and business we will always be guided to know how to run our lives and businesses.

Deuteronomy 28:1-13 (NKJV)

Blessings Of Obedience

1“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:
^"Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
"Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.
"Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
“Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
“The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Deuteronomy 28:1-13 makes clear the fact that as we are diligent in the Word we will have success in life, in our businesses, wherever we reside or go, against those who go against us and our needs will always be met.

God most certainly desires to bless His children and has given us His Word to live successful lives and prosper financially. As we do, we will be greater able to finance the Gospel of Jesus Christ and spread the Word to the lost.
